While I was gone, in the first 2 months of 2008, we quietly surpassed the total number of new sales for all of 2007 for our POS Express 2.9 product! We are all in this together as most of our new sales directly or indirectly come from referrals from you, our current customers. This rapid growth has naturally strained our tech support group and we are working hard to bring on new Techs to get our support group back up to par.
Many companies would stop their research and development efforts and consider their mission complete with such a success, but I am a technology junkie. You may have heard me say before, when asked how long it takes to build a product like POS Express, that "It is never complete and is a constant work in progress."
So I just spent two months working with our programmers to put the finishing touches on the next release of our software. POS Express 3.0 has already been released to our retail customers (www.posprophetsystems.com) and the golf product should be ready in the next month or so. I am very excited about the new features and improvements we made. When the update is ready for the golf side, I will do several newsletters on the new features and begin to focus lessons on v3.0. Here is just a teaser of some of the new features we developed:
• Food & Beverage
• Table Layout
• PABP Certified
• More Credit Card Processor options
• Marketing Tools
• Email Blast Wizard
• Training Mode
• Faster Sale Processing
• Improved Web Store Integration
• Auto-Update feature
• Inventory ‘Control' Reports
• Mark-downs vs. Discounts
• Split Payment Enhancements
• Billing Cycle
• F&B Minimum
• Repeat (or not) Customer Identification Tool
• Ability to Email Customer Statements
• On-Line Customer Billing/Payments
• ‘Skins' (not the game) for Retail, Golf, F&B, and Custom Applications
Prior versions will continue to be supported; however PCI and PABP credit card requirements may play a role in the need to upgrade by next year if you accept credit cards at your facility.
Today's lesson: A quick way to do a Batch Sale. This is handy for selling a group of your members all the same product. For example, Shultz, who is a lesson giving fanatic and marketing genius, comes up with an offer for a 4 hour group lesson/clinic with a box lunch for a mere $48 per student. Shultz posts a few sign up sheets around the clubhouse and uses the CPS email tool to send out targeted emails to all the golfers in the CPS database with this offer. The morning of the lesson, Shultz now has a list of 20 students for his group lesson.
Of course Shultz could run thru 20 sales (one at a time to each student) but there is a Batch Sale feature available for just such an occasion.
From the Sales screen, click on the Sales menu item at the top of the screen and click on "Batch Sales..."

This will open a Multiple Customers Selection screen where you can find and select (double-click) the players for the clinic.

Click the OK button after you finish adding each of the students. This will take you back to the Sales screen where you enter the Lesson and Box Lunch products.

Set the Payment Method to ‘Member Account', click the Finalize Sale button and you will see the software enter each of the 20 sales for you -- and notice Shultz just pocketed a smooth $800 for ½ day's work!
Enjoy :)
