For all you 80s Rock fans out there, what does the following list have in common?
• Winger
• Dokken
• Alice Cooper
• Night Ranger
• Whitesnake
• Club Prophet Systems?

The answer is one of Rock's leading guitarists, and my good friend, Reb Beach, currently on tour with Whitesnake somewhere in Europe. Whitesnake has just released a video of their new hit "Lay Down Your Love" that you can see on their website. Note: you need to scroll to the right to see the Video link. About ¼ the way into the video you will see a clip of Reb on the tour bus wearing his favorite hat -- none other than the famous CPS golf cap! It's hard to see in this screenshot I captured but you can view the entire video on Whitesnake's website.

Today I want to show you a new feature for those of you doing Cross-Over tee times.

Let's take a simple case of an 18-hole course running a cross over (set up as two 9-hole courses). The cross-over time is set to 2 hours, so if you sell the 8:00 am tee time off #1, your #10 tee is blocked off at 10:00 am. When you sell your 8:00 am tee time off #10, your #1 tee time is blocked off at 10:00 am, etc.

In a perfect world, everyone will book their tee time between 8 am and 10 am, and then again between 12 pm and 2 pm; but when was the last time you lived in that parallel universe called a perfect world? You know how it goes, some VIP, the owner or someone calls in a favor and you need to send someone out at 10:15 am. Or maybe you just booked a 9-hole reservation off the back 9 since it was open. Now someone comes in and requests the open 8:15 am tee time for 18 holes. The StarterHut tee sheet will try to accommodate this by giving them the next available 9 off the back; the problem is that may be at 4:00 pm.

Enter the new option to "limit the time for 18-hole cross-over". Notice in the tee sheet below, you were cruising along very nicely filling in your tee sheet. You get a request for the last open morning cross over at 9:45 am on the Valley course:

Notice that the 11:45 am crossover time on the Mountain course is already booked. I set up the options to "Limit the Time" to 30 minutes. Since there is no time on the Mountain course available within 30 minutes of my cross-over, I will be prompted as follows:

You now have the option of suggesting a new starting time or asking the customer if they want to play 9 holes. I am going to accept a 9-hole booking here. The reservation will be set to 9 holes automatically.

To set this option for your facility do the following:

Click on Admin (enter the admin password), click on Option > Facility (scroll down on the right if need be) and set the Use Limit Time and enter the number of minutes, then click Update All.
