Cog Hill - BMW Championship - FedEx Cup Playoff

As promised, here are some statistics on one of the top performers at the PGA - BMW Championship in the race for the FedEx Cup at Cog Hill. Of course, I'm talking about Club Prophet Systems' POS Express product. The very same product many of you have in your shops was put to the test on an international stage while a bunch of guys were out playing golf.

Read on for the CPS stats during the week long event.

Also, get a preview of the new trick Tiger is working on now.

Overall, the software performed flawlessly. Speed outperformed our expectations. Note that the resulting speed was due to a combined effort of a hardware review and upgrades with participation from both CPS and Cog Hill staff. If you are experiencing slow response time, it may be time to send that horse you're riding to the glue factory and upgrade your hardware.

A special thanks to Katherine Jemsek and Nick Mokelke who made this all possible; and, of course, to their wonderful staff in both the Merchandise and F&B who operated the POS Express software all week!

On Monday (day after the event): Cog Hill opened the Dubsdread course to the public, set up exactly as it was for the final round -- wonderfully promoted to the public. Result: Sales at Cog Hill were double what they were from the same day of the prior year. Not bad, eh? By the way, I did get to see some of the course. In a word... Spectacular! If you ever get the chance, get a round of golf in on the Dubsdread course!

Tigers new trick... We have all seen Tiger dribble a ball on his club, pop it up a bit high, take a full swing and hit it pure as it comes down. Well, here is what is he working on now, as witnessed by yours truly. Tiger walks out onto the practice green and starts dribbling the ball on his club face as he walks past one of the practice holes. He continues about 3 steps and pops the ball up over his right shoulder in an attempt to hole it out. He missed. As it rolled toward the hole, it broke slightly left and ended up just past hole-high about 2 cups left. I'm sure he will get that down and we will all see it in a Nike commercial some day.

Until Next time,

Enjoy :)
