Today a quick lesson on a new v3.0 feature for creating a Package. As always, you are only limited by your imagination but let's take the following scenario. You sell Slazenger's latest and greatest "hit further, go straighter, feel softer and spin more" golf ball for $12 per sleeve, including tax. Your supplier just handed you a pile of cool Slazenger Panther Visors at no charge. MSRP is $5. They also handed you a poster with "Buy one dozen balls for $40 (including tax) and get a free visor!"Notice for the visor the Cost is $0 since the supplier gave us these for free:
Now, the idea here is to set up a box (one dozen/4 sleeves) of balls that will be sold at a discount (vs. individual sleeves) and include a free visor. The resulting sale of the Package will update the inventory of the individual sleeves, discount the total and track inventory of the visors.
Follow the numbered steps below:
1. Click on the Packages tab on the Inventory screen.
2. Click the Add New Package button.
3. Enter a Package Code.
4. Enter a Package Name.
5. Enter a Package Description.
6. From the Item Code field, enter and select the first product for the Package.
7. Set the Price (see Price column to see how I did it for this example).
8. Set the Qty (see Qty column to see how I did it for this example).
9. Click the Add Item button (REPEAT STEPS 7 thru 9 for each product in the Package).
10. Click the Save button.
Next, click Tools >Options > Sales Options > Quick Sales Button Setup
From the Quick Sales Button Setup, follow the numbered steps below:
1. Click the Add button.
2. Select Package for Button Type.
3. Enter a button Label.
4. Enter the Package Code you set up above.
5. Click the Save button.
6. Click the Close button.
Now on the Sales screen you will see a new Package tab. This will have the Package Quick Sale key that you just set up. Click on that key and notice that you are selling 4 sleeves of Slazenger Balls for $40 (including tax) and 1 Visor at $0.
Again, this is a simple example. With a little creativity, you can Package anything you have in your inventory system including Carts, Green Fees, Lessons, Merchandise, etc. Give it a try.
Enjoy :)
